This show was shot via Google+ Video Chat.

Editing by Alex Reid

art tech culture 1.17 : Re-Invention

art tech culture 1.16 : Humour & Comedy

Melina Cassidy and Alex Reid discuss humour and forms of comedy such as the famous Abbott & Costello skit Who’s on First?

Speaking of firsts, this is the first show without music.

art tech culture 1.15 : Transmedia

This week is about transmedia, a word that Alex says we’ll hear more as new media converges upon traditional media. Jeff Gomez is one such transmedia artist and there’s a great interview of him here which Ted and Alex reference in this show.

The song is “Slowly” by M83.

(We took a week off last week for vacation)

art tech culture 1.14 : Online Distribution

This week’s show about online distribution was late which must have been delivered via postal mail because as artists, we’ve found that the Internet has changed the game for selling art work, whether they are reproductions or an unique piece of work.

We mentioned iTunes, Lulu and CafePress as avenues to reproduce and distribute music, books and other forms of works.

The warehouse shot is from IKEA auto-warehouse in Germany and the overlay of electrons is a visualization of how BitTorrent works.

The song for this show is “The Gold Bug” by The Alan Parsons Project.
